Well now I hope they dump Hood he is Junior A material at best

Well for sure Majetka will be gone, as far as a trade I believe there's 3 or 4 players,(veterans) that don't come to play very often that would make good trade bait without giving up that first rounder!! MG must of read my mind!!

You might even get a good D man if you combine Evan Bloodoff, McMillan and Hood. People can make an argument against trading McMillan but I think he is the guy to deal to get what we need.

I can't see Hood and Bloodoff alone getting us a anything decent ( maybe a 20 year old ??) but Regan may have a better insight as to what is out there and the cost.

All I know is you have to give up some quality to get. I often get the vibe that people believe you can give away marginal talent for a top end player. It won't happen. High draft picks will get you an upgrade....sending a struggling third line forward - no matter how many you package - will get you little return.

Novotny is a one trick pony. Skates hard up the ice with the puck, loses the puck, and then doesn't back-check.

Matejka may not be a stellar player, but I like the fact that he hits, he works hard in the offensive zone, and generates chances.

Everyone complains about Matejka being a fourth liner, but what exactly is Novotny with Backlund on the team now? He's no better than third or fourth line.

Matejka can come back next season for the Rockets and not hurt us. Novotny however is going to be an overager, and I don't see him sticking. Why not trade him now for something?

Novotny + 2nd Rounder for Yonkman + Dudas/Molle

Lazaruk can be packaged up and sent somewhere with a player like Hood to pick up some additional forward depth (preferably someone who is capable of fighting and protecting Backlund and Benn) or a pick.

I agree that Novotny doesn't see the ice well but he is at least a quality Euro. Majetka has not played a lot or that well early on so I would think he is the Euro to go. I agree that he is more physical than Novotny but so is a Saskatchewan farm boy. No import should be in the CHL as less than a second line player. I am sorry if that is an inflammatory statement but I am Canadian, dammit....Majetka never really got a shot here maybe somewhere else. I also agree the Bloodoffs and Macmillan have not played up to their potential this year nor has Hood or Paradise: But the GM's that have followed the team and you can see them in the stands if you know who you are looking at aren't going to want them unless they think they can get them going. I don't know why Huska can't get them to play you'd have to ask him, Regan. But unless they step up we are still a one (very talented) line team. And if Huska plays that line up even, shorthanded and powerplay, then they will be dog tired in the third and we won't ever have a hope of beating Vancouver or TriCities four games out of seven. Still a fun team to watch most nights though.......can't say that about Prince George......

Novotny has been given ice time, and done nothing. His value is higher at the deadline.

Matejka has not been given the light of day. Sound familar? Kytnar right a bell?

And under your rules of not allowed Euros on the team who are not capable of playing on the top two lines, then you must want Novotny AND Matejka gone. Cause neither fit that description.

What is everyone's problem with Hood? The kid grinds, creates chances, skates hard, the biggest contributor to the energy line and wears his heart on his sleeve...that's exactly the kind of player you want to be holding on to.
