Gogol situation clarified

Rockets GM Bruce Hamilton had this to say about forward Curt Gogol being a health scratch for a third straight game.

"We have sent him (Gogol) home to Calgary. We will try to move him before the deadline. He felt he should be used in more situations. We are disappointed, however I want what is best for the team."

Umm...WTF happened? This kid had all kinds of heart!

I would think we better not wait too long to move him - we need help now!! Its really too bad, Curt has alot of heart & had a couple of the biggest hits in the final game last year against Calgary which really turned the game around for us!! Good luck kid!!

Folks, I appreciate your comments on the situation but I will not post comments that take negative pokes at Curt Gogol. Gogol went to war many nights and deserves some respect for his efforts.

Not a shocker Regan, everything is always rainbows and sunshine in your world. It really is too bad. Truth hurts, and gets Bruce unhappy obviously. How does that feel to answer to that?

I have had seasons tix well before you arrived so gives some of us respect once inawhile. So tired of you and Gord treating the fans here like we are morons.

I am not sure how you figure I am giving Rockets fans a lack of respect? Am I going to wait and get clarification from the team before releasing information on a situation that is being handled behind closed doors by the team? Darn rights.

LOL Ryan...Always good for a chuckle with your stupidity in the morning.

Good on ya for keeping this whole situation hush hush Regan. What happened is none of our bloody Business. Sure I'm confused as to what happened, as are all Rocket Fans. But, we do not have the 'right' to be privvy to that information.

Jared I am sure if you talk around with enough billets you can piece it all together and get the story. You have to appreciate where I sit on this situation. I can't go beaking off about it without getting team clearance. I can't. Would I be talking 'out of school' if something was suppose to be confidential inside our radio station? Why is this any different? I think you get it. The fact is the Rockets dealt with the situation internally and Hamilton made it public by replying to my e-mail on Sunday. Check out the Daily Courier for futher comments from Hamilton on the Gogol situation.

Regan do you think that Gogol has been traded in a pakage deal with an injured rocket and they have to wait to announce it?

Regan Bartel said...

I would doubt that. I guess any thing is possible though. For a team to trade for an injured player would be a huge gamble imo. Gogol was an 8th round bantam pick, so I am not sure what the Rockets can get in return.

Let's hope the Rockets can get a good player for trading Gogol. Not that Gogol isn't a good player.

I am interested to see what happens. I guess we will find out what happens in the next few days

It is no secret I have enjoyed watching Gogol and his energy and toughness on this team. With both his former linemates from the Sandpaper Line of last year getting drafted one could expect to see the same thing in the cards for Gogol. Not sure why, other than the knee injury to Bloodoff why those three were ever separated. Not sure where Bruce is going to find a player to play both wings, defence, and lead the league in penalties. Have to wonder what was the expanded role he was looking for? Head scout? Driving the team bus? Good luck Gogol with your new team. This one will miss you, no matter what Ryan posts.
