I like this photo
Recognize this goaltender? This is one of many pictures in the lobby at the Medicine Hat Arena of former Tigers. This is Kelly Hrudey of Hockey Night in Canada fame.
No wonder his GAA was 6.17 in 57 games in 1978-79, those pads are quite small and the glove could hold maybe three pucks. The blocker is a good size though.
Another interesting stat was Kelly's 43 PIMS, I guess he was angry letting all those goals in.
Kelly's GAA improved the next few years and was actually below four.
The good old days when the final score was 8-6 on any given night. Or as I like to call that era, BGB (before gary betman).
