Rockets prospect receives all-star birth
Congratulations to Kelowna Rockets prospect Joe Gatenby for being named to the BC Major Midget League All-Star game. Gatenby and seven of his Okanagan Rockets teammates will compete in the game January 18th in Langley. Gatenby is a second round pick of the Kelowna Rockets in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft. This season in midget, Gatenby has 2 goals and 13 assists in 23 games. Okanagan Rockets head coach James Eccles will coach 'Team Red' while general manager David Michaud participates in the showcase for the second time in the last three seasons. The Okanagan Rockets have a busy schedule ahead of them, including a birth in the prestigious Mac's Midget Hockey tournament in Calgary during Christmas. The Okanagan Rockets open the tourney Boxing Day against the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes.
