- Jamie Benn and Tyler Myers leave for Ottawa today, a day ahead of Team Canada's main camp which begins Thursday. In speaking to Benn, he would like nothing more than to play with Medicine Hat Tigers forward Tyler Ennis if everything goes according to plan. Benn spent some time playing with Ennis at the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge last month in Swift Current and Prince Albert.
- Benn has never played for his country on the international stage. Myers played for Canada at the Under 18's.
- Myers is familiar to Team Canada head coach Pat Quinn. Quinn was his coach at the Under 18's.
- Jeff Thorburn isn't the first Athletic Therapist for the Rockets to represent his country at the World Juniors. Scott Hoyer was a member of the medical staff when Team Canada hosted the tournament in Halifax in 2002. The coach for Team Canada that year was Marc Habscheid.
- Rockets assistant coach Jeff Finley knows something about representing his country on the international stage. Finley played for Canada at the 2000 World Championships in Russia.
- Colin Long has 16+27=43 after 28 games this season. Last year after 28 games Long had 11+24=35.
- Cody Almond has 12+13=25 in 28 games this season. Last year after 28 games Almond had 23 points courtesy of 6 goals and 17 assists.
- This season Almond has 12 road points with 9 of his 12 goals coming on opposition ice.

Hi Regan -
With Jamie Benn and Tyler Myers leaving for Ottawa, Stepan Novotny trying out for the Czech national team, Kyle St Denis (Wrist – indefinite) and Jesse Paradis (Ankle - indefinite) injured (and Curt Gogol too?), who besides Shane McColgan are the Rockets going to call-up? Brett Bulmer and/or Max Adolph?
Malcolm
I understand Bulmer is coming in from Prince George for a couple of games. Also Bulmer and his midget team are playing at the Mac's Midget Tournament in Calgary at Christmas.
