Shane McColgan has been named the Western Conference rookie of the year. McColgan will now go up against the Eastern Conference rookie of the year, Red Deer's Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, for the WHL rookie of the year award next month.
Tyson Barrie was also named the Western Conference defenceman of the year. Barrie was also named a first team Western Conference all-star.
Spencer Main is the Western Conference nominee for scholastic player of the year.
