Ugly!
That would best describe the Rockets loss to Tri City on Friday. The Rockets were not sharp, and showed no physical edge all night long. And talk about no scoring chances, the Rockets may have had two in the game.
It seemed as though the Rockets got worse as the game went on, and the Americans got better.
Tri City got 23 shots on goal alone in the 3rd period, which showed the boys didn't have much belief in a comeback after getting down 2-0 after two periods.
The turning point for me was when the Americans had 4 consecutive penalities in the second period, yet the Rockets couldn't generate anything on the power play.
Coach Huska told me that veteran d-man Clayton Barthel got benched in the 3rd period, which I didn't notice because he was like most of his teammates, invisible all night.
Huska also pointed to the older guys, that they need to be better. It's the older guys that are getting the power play time, but when you are 0/8 with the man advantage, those that play on that unit are going to get blamed.
It's the 9th time this season the Rockets have been shutout.
A much better effort will be needed over the next two night's or this team is going to get it on the scoreboard.
