Rockets Game Notes vs. Rebels


Tonight’s Preview: The Kelowna Rockets play the fourth and final game of a four game home stand tonight against the Red Deer Rebels. The Rockets are 3-0-0-0 in the first three games with wins over Kamloops (3-0), Prince George (5-0) and Edmonton (3-2). The Rebels and Rockets met back on October 27th with Kelowna earning a 3-1 win. They meet one more time after tonight, in Red Deer, December 15th.
The Rockets are riding a season high five game home ice winning streak, having out-scored the opposition 18-4. The Rockets have shut out the opposition in three of their last five home games. Overall, the Rockets have one regulation loss in their last nine games (7-1-0-1) with the lone setback being a 5-3 loss in Edmonton October 27th. Following tonight’s game, the Rockets are in Tri City for back-to-back games next weekend. The Rockets host Regina two weeks from tonight at Prospera Place.    

This and That: The last time the Rockets won five or more straight games at home was during the 2009-2010 season. The team won 7 straight home games between November 2nd to December 4th….The Rockets have not allowed a power play goal against in their last four games (15 for 15)….The Rockets have just one power play goal in their last five games (1 for 17 over that span)….The Rockets have eleven wins in 19 games this season….The Rockets play 11 games in November, with eight of them on home ice. The three road games are in Tri City (Nov 16-17) and Everett (Nov 25)…Colton Sissons has been named to the roster for the Subway Super Series this month (Nov 14th ) in Vancouver…In the Rockets 11 wins this season, Myles Bell has earned 18 points (6+12=18). Of the 47 goals scored by the team in those eleven wins, Bell has been in on 18 of them….Bell has 9+15=24 after 19 games this season…J.T Barnett and rookie Austin Glover are the only three skaters that have failed to find the score sheet this season…The Rockets have scored 47 goals in their last twelve games….The Rockets acquired forward Cody Fowlie off waivers October 22nd. Fowlie played last season with the Everett Silvertips, racking up 40 points….Jordon Cooke was named the CHL/Vaughn Goaltender of the Week for October 22-28th. Cooke had two wins last week which included a shutout and a save percentage of .967…Ryan Olsen played  in his 150th career WHL game Nov 3rd against visiting Prince George…Ryan Huska has 197 WHL regular season victories behind the Rockets bench… Colton Sissons turned 19 on Monday while teammate Cody Fowlie turned 20 on that exactly same day. Tyson Baillie turns 17 on November 16th…The Rockets are 6 and 2 after 8 home games this season. Last season they were 4-3-0-1 after eight homes games.

Hot/Cold: Jackson Whistle is 4 and 0 this season. Tyson Baillie has four goals in his last seven games and six points (4+2=6) over that stretch. Myles Bell has been held scoreless in six games. Colton Sissons has one point (goal) in his last five games. Dylan McKinlay has two points (goals) in his last five games.
