Rockets game notes vs. Americans

Tonight’s Preview: The Kelowna Rockets face the Tri C ity Americans in the first of four games between the two teams this season. The Rockets face the Americans for the first time ever in a weekend double header in Kennewick Washington. These two teams will conclude the seasonal series with games in Kelowna on November 28/12 and January 11/13. These two teams met four times last season with the Rockets going 2-2-0-0. The road team won every game in the seasonal series.  The Americans out-scored the Rockets 15-13 in the four games. The Rockets completed a four game home stand last Friday with an 8-1 win over visiting Red Deer. The Rockets were 4-0-0-0 with wins over Kamloops (3-0), Prince George (5-0), Edmonton (3-2) and Red Deer (8-1). The Rockets are riding a season high six game home ice winning streak, having out-scored the opposition 26-5. The Rockets have shut out the opposition in three of their last six home games. Overall, the Rockets have one regulation loss in their last ten games (8-1-0-1) with the lone setback being a 5-3 loss in Edmonton October 27^th. The Rockets have won 5 straight games overall. Following back-to-back games against the Americans, the Rockets host Regina Friday night.  

This and That: The last Rockets win in Tri City came January 23/2011 in a 4-3 win. The Rockets received two goals from Zach Franko in the one goal win. The visitors managed just 15 shots on goal…The last time the Rockets won six or more straight games at home was during the 2009-2010 season. The team won 7 straight home games between November 2^nd to December 4^th….The Rockets have not allowed a power play goal against in their last five games (20 for 20)….The Rockets have just two power play goal in their last six games (2 for 21 over that span)….The Rockets have twelve wins in 20 games this season….The Rockets play 11 games in November, with eight of them on home ice. The three road games are in Tri City (Nov 16-17) and Everett (Nov 25)…Colton Sissons participated in the Subway Sup Series earlier this week in Vancouver…In the Rockets 12 wins this season, Myles Bell has earned 21 points (8+13=21). Cooke had two wins last week which included a shutout and a save percentage of .967…Ryan Olsen played in his 150^th career WHL game Nov 3^rd against visiting Prince George…Ryan Huska has 198 WHL regular season victories behind the Rockets bench…Tyson Baillie turns 17 today…The Rockets are 7 and 2 after 9 home games this season…The Rockets have allowed the second fewest amount of goals in the WHL (50). Only Portland has allowed fewer (41)...Rookies Riley Stadel and Austin Glover will participate in the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge next month. Stadel will play for Team Pacific while Glover will dress for Team Western.
