Wild scout Craig Channell

Minnesota Wild scout Craig Channell was at last night's Rockets game. I spoke to him about Brett Bulmer and what he has seen from draft eligible Colton Sissons.

You've seen Brett Bulmer a few times since he returned to the Rockets from the NHL. What do you think?

"He can still give more. The challenge is to always push yourself harder because you think you can get away without working hard at the junior level but you can't."

How much did Brett improve over the summer?

"We saw rapid improvement at the end of last year and this summer by sticking to a conditioning plan and going down to Minnesota for a long stretch. I think it really helped him. I was at a game where we (Wild) were playing Columbus and he is lined up against Rick Nash and he chops him right across the top of the foot. It's like, that is what he brings and that is what he has to do all the time and bring that edge without going over it".

What are his thoughts on Kelowna Rockets forward Colton Sissons who is draft eligible this summer:

"He is a hard working, grinding type centerman. He is in the mold of a Cody Almond. He isn't a dynamic skater but he is a smart player. He can get in the right position. He thinks the game well and he plays in all key situations. He is a heart and soul type of guy who goes out and battles hard during the whistles. When you are that young and you have a letter on your jersey, when it's the 'C', it says something about his character".
