McKinlay makes most of missed opportunities
Dylen McKinlay was snake bitten Wednesday night when he missed two glorious chances to score in a 6-1 win over Victoria. The 20 year-old forward took some ribbing from his coaches and teammates and then made up for the miscues with two goals and two assists in the Kelowna Rockets 6-3 win Friday night over the visiting Tri City Americans. McKinlay now has 42 points, three more than the 39 he put up in his 19 year-old season with the Kootenay Ice. McKinlay now leads the team in game winning goals (5), shorthanded goals (3) and plus-minus with a +36. It is McKinlay's second-four point game of his career. Last January he had two goals and two assists against the Prince Albert Raiders.
