Hunt Hurt

It looks like Garet Hunt's season is over. The feisty Vancouver Giants forward broke his leg last night against the Kamloops Blazers when he missed a check and went heavily into the corner boards.
Some fans will be glad to see Hunt gone for the season, because he's a player you like to hate.
He is physical, will fight anyone and is one of the best antagonizers in the game.
While you hate him as a member of the opposition, you'd likely love him if he was on your team.
Garet Hunt does whatever it takes to win, and has taken on some of the toughest customers in the game this season despite being just 5'8 and just over 190 pounds.
In a fight with James McEwan just a few weeks ago, the two traded punches with McEwan eventually getting the upper hand. Yet Hunt deserves a ton of credit for standing in there, as McEwan threw 47 punches his way. Hunt dropped to one knee, but got back up and continued to take blows and throw some of his own with his never say die attitude.
Am I a fan of Garet Hunt?
Not really.
I will always remember Hunt and the Giants last season celebrating at centre ice on the second last game of the regular season against the Kelowna Rockets.
When the final buzzer sounded to end the game, all the Giants players gathered at centre ice in celebration as the team clinched the WHL regular season crown with a 3-2 win.
As the Rockets watched the Giants celebrate, you couldn't help but notice Garet Hunt grabbing his 'croch' and yelling at the Rockets bench.
Classless?
Yes.
Stupid ?
Yes.
Showing up a team that at that time had gone to 3 Memorial Cups was like a slap in the face of every member of the Rockets hockey club that season.
Sure Hunt had the last laugh, as the Giants would not only win the regular season title, but also the league championship with a 4 game sweep over Moose Jaw.
Yet what Hunt did that day at centre ice makes you throw out the saying 'what comes around goes around'.
Hunt wasn't gracious in victory that day, and now will most likely be on the sideline when the Giants play for the Memorial Cup in Vancouver in May.
