It appears Colin Long won't be picking up any hardware at Wednesday's WHL awards banquet. The reason? He hasn't even been invited. The Western Conference nominee for Sportsmanlike Player of the Year will have to look forward to June's NHL draft, where he will most certainly be selected.
Tyler Ennis is the Eastern Conference nominee for the Sportsmanlike Player of the Year. If I was a betting man, Ennis got his invite in the mail.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Long was the team MVP, had more points than Ennis, played in more games than Ennis, and had fewer pims.
Aside from Post Office speculation, what's your source Scoop?
No scoop here. Just pure speculation. I am assuming that all the award winners would be at the banquet for a media/photo op. If I am dead wrong on this, it wouldn't be the first time. I picked Portland to win the WHL title.

Un reall that Coling Long would not win that award. To me he was the backbone of this team and at times carried the team on his back.
Just a few comments on the draft. Was Dylan Hood not ranked by Central Scouting in their mid term rankings? What happened to Dylan's ranking Also it is mind boggling that players like Lucas Bloodoff and Kyle St.Denis aren't even mentioned. Whats your take. Both Lucas and Kyle aren't that less of players than Brandon Macmillan, whose ranked I think 43rd.
Here's Lucas Bloodoff, like 6'2 , 210 lbs and no bites.
your title is a little harsh regan! Take it easy on these young men!
Central Scouting's list is a gauge of who is expected to be taken in the draft, it's not the bible on exactly where these players will be taken. Any of the suggested players you spoke about who were not named on the final Central Scouting list would still gather some interest in the later rounds.
Even if a player isn't drafted, many have received invites to pro camps and have caught the attention of teams that way. Anyone not drafted in June shouldn't hang their heads, but prove the scouts wrong a year later. Colin Long may be the best example of that after being overlooked last season. This summer he has a good shot of hearing his name in Ottawa.
